Goldblum plays a scientist who experiments on himself and inadvertently crosses his own DNA with that of a common housefly. The result is that he develops into a hideous man/fly hybrid. His girlfriend, Veronica (Davis), tries to stick it out but his behavior is becoming erratic and dangerous; plus he has to vomit on his food in order to consume it. Of course, this can’t end well, and the whole thing spirals into a tragic ending but, at its heart, THE FLY is an operatic love story.
