The directorial debut of Hal Hartley regular Martin Donovan, COLLABORATOR is the riveting, darkly comedic tale of Robert Longfellow (Donovan), a famous playwright who can’t seem to catch a break. His recent Broadway play is a flop and his marriage is on the rocks. Retreating back to his childhood home to visit his mother, Robert crosses paths with his old neighbor, Gus (Morse), a right-wing, ex-con who still lives at home with his mom. When a drunken reunion goes terribly wrong, Gus ends up holding Robert hostage at gunpoint as social status, celebrity and the imminent threat of violence collide, building to a climax that will leave both men forever changed.

“Donovan and Morse are ferociously good.” –New York Post

“A Dark, Funny Tragedy.” –Village Voice

“Morse and Donovan hold us rapt in this clearly told tale about identity confusion.” –Toronto Globe and Mail

“Smart, funny and tense.” –Hollywood and Fine

Tickets for all CineCache screenings (unless otherwise noted) are $10 for general public/$8 for Brattle and Chlotrudis members. A subscription for the entire program – 7 screenings in all – is $50 for general public / $40 for Brattle and Chlotrudis members.
