Jones, Susan B.

This image is from a series of images that I made after hearing someone talk about gelatin prints. I wanted to do some printing and I wanted to work small.  This seemed ideal. I liked working on the gelatin sheets with tempera paint and printing ink. The gelatin had a nice “squooshiness” and bounce.

Larsen, Rob

The path to this point in my creative life is surprisingly direct. Bits grow on top of bits, but everything I am now as an artist can be traced back to the kid who haunted museums, drew obsessively and immersed himself in the energy of graffiti in the 1980s. Currently all of that is funneled into work that tries to distill the feel of the city and the freestyle typography of graffiti onto canvas. My process tries to replicate the layering of city walls and the random way that the environment transforms the city’s surfaces.
