A decade ago, the Brattle Film Foundation was created to continue the important legacy of the Brattle Theatre. What legacy, you ask? At our 2010 Gala, esteemed Boston Globe movie critic and all-around good guy, Ty Burr, described it perfectly when he congratulated the Brattle Theatre for being “the most subversive organization in the People’s Republic of Cambridge.”
The Brattle Theatre has been a destination for provocative, engaging and entertaining movies since 1953. Fifty-seven years later, the Brattle Film Foundation proudly continues this legacy—inspiring new generations of film lovers. Viewing movies in a cinema is both a community and personal experience and we are thrilled to have been able to provide this magical experience to more than half a million community members over the past decade.
We are pleased to share our 10th Anniversary Annual Report with you. You can also see the complete lists of premieres, guests, partners and festivals that have helped to make the Brattle the amazing place that it is. We would like to thank you—our tremendous supporters. Without you, we would not be celebrating this milestone. It has been an honor to have you as part of the BFF family and we look forward to spending the next decade with you!
