For this special repertory series, which runs on Tuesdays through July & August, we offer only a handful of the great films made about the act of making, showing, and watching movies. Whether celebrating the Golden Age of Hollywood in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN or lamenting the plight of the porn-theater ticket-seller in Bette Gordon’s amazing VARIETY or examining the psyche of a young girl irrevocably changed by seeing James Whale’s Frankenstein in SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, these films all immerse us in the magic and power of cinema.
