Our annual roundup of some of the best films released in the previous year had been too long delayed by the pandemic. We are excited to feature some of the films that we wish we had all been able to gather at the cinema to watch as one in 2020. From crowd-pleasing action films to emotionally stirring documentaries; from gorgeous new restorations to indie sensations; from enigmatic world cinema to weirdo late shows – this series has so many great films that it’s going to take us a full two months to show them all.
