The newest film from writer-director Roy Andersson is another dry, surreal, funny, acerbic, and beautifully composed work. Maybe because of his age, or possibly the times, in this film Andersson turns his eye to mortality and the beauty and disappointment of life. ABOUT ENDLESSNESS takes the form of a series of vignettes that highlight Andersson’s skill at making the simple absurd and the funny heartbreaking (and vice versa).
