Co-scripted by the legendary Neil Simon and with a score written for the American market by Burt Bacharach, this off-the-rails caper comedy features Peter Sellers as Aldo Vanucci, one of the world’s greatest criminals and a master of disguise. When he hears that his sister has turned to prostitution, Vanucci promptly escapes from prison—only to find out that that she has actually become a film actress. Sensing an opportunity, Vanucci disguises himself as a New Wave director and begins work on a ‘film’ in which three million dollars in gold is smuggled into Italy.
