Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood
Director: Richard Linklater Run Time: 98 min. Format: DCP Release Year: 2022
Theatrical Premiere Screenings
This charming fictional memoir from indie director Richard Linklater uses the same rotoscoping animation style from his acclaimed Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly but in the service of a nostalgic story of childhood. In APOLLO 10 1/2, it’s the summer of 1969 and the first moon landing is the only thing on everyone’s mind, except for maybe that of Stan, a young boy living in the Houston suburbs. You see Stan has already been to the moon as part of a top-secret NASA operation in preparation for the Apollo 11 mission.
