Enrique (Martinez), an up-and-coming filmmaker, has an unexpected encounter with a trans woman named Angel (Bernal) claiming to have once been his childhood friend Ignacio. Angel has a story about an abusive priest at a boarding school that she wants Enrique to make into a film and he is interested, especially since it reflects his memories about their youth together. But, as the movie gets underway with Angel as the lead, her motives and identity are called into question and a threatening figure from their past reemerges.
