This PBS adaptation of Fitzgerald’s classic short story features the always charming Shelley Duvall as Bernice, a shy country teenager who is summering with her pretty and sophisticated cousin Marjorie (Cartwright). As a lark, Marjorie offers to teach Bernice how to seem more modern, but Bernice turns out to be too much of a quick study and a rivalry soon develops.
