In Tribute to Shane MacGowan!

In tribute to the recently deceased, legendary Irish singer, poet, and frontman for The Pogues, we’re pleased to present this recent portrait of the artist by punk rock documentarian Julien Temple (The Filth and the Fury). Temple’s mastery with archival footage is on full display here as he weaves together a tapestry of vintage film clips, live performances, and contemporary interviews with MacGowan, his family, and friends. Always a complicated and cantankerous figure, here MacGowan is simultaneously revered as a contemporary version of the Irish Bard while not being let off the hook for being a proper bastard at times.
