Brandon Callender received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020 and is currently working as an assistant professor of English at Brandeis University, where he specializes in black horror and black queer studies. His forthcoming book, Getting Behind in Black Gay Men’s Literature, is currently under contract with Ohio State University Press. At Brandeis, Callender teaches an array of horror courses, including “The Ghosts of Race,” “Blackness and Horror,” and a vampire course: “Dark Fictions of Blood.” You can catch his discussion of horror on NPR last year here [the1a.org].
