Halloween III: Season of the Witch

Opens on April 28

Director: Tommy Lee Wallace Run Time: 99 min. Format: 35mm Film Release Year: 1982

Starring: Dan O'Herlihy, Michael Currie, Stacey Nelkin, Tom Atkins

Disappointed by the reaction to HALLOWEEN II, producers John Carpenter and Debra Hill wanted to take the franchise in a different direction, transforming it into an anthology of different horror films all set around Halloween. Seems like a great idea now, but in 1982, at the height of Slasher Fever, it was box office poison. Still, this unique, delightfully nihilistic offering entertains in its own right. When a washed up doctor (Atkins) becomes involved in an investigation of sinister goings on at the Silver Shamrock Novelties factory, he uncovers an incredible plot to sacrifice children on Halloween eve.

Triple Feature with HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN II

Staff Pick!

“I’ve seen the first movie a bunch of times, but haven’t gotten to the other installments yet. I hear #3 is the best of the ‘others’ – and you don’t even have to have seen #2 first. Might be fun and trippy to watch this outside of spooky season. Boo!” – Tom R.

“Tom Atkins, a weird and looney horror plot to create mass sacrifice using Halloween masks, robots, paganism, and other B movie delights. What’s not to love?” – James D.
