In the vein of My Man Godfrey except with a much brainier blonde, IF YOU COULD ONLY COOK follows auto exec Jim Buchanan (Marshall) who meets lovely job hunter Joan Hawthorne (Arthur) while on a walk in the park. Thinking he is also looking for work, Joan convinces Jim to pose as her husband so that they can get a joint gig as a butler and cook. Of course, they succeed and hijinks ensue.
