Acclaimed British filmmaker Ben Wheatley (A Field in England) returns to the folk horror realm with this dreadful, transcendental film about a scientist (Fry) and park scout (Torchia) who embark on a routine equipment run in the midst of an apocalyptic virus outbreak. After a violent nighttime attack that leaves them vulnerable, they welcome the help of a seemingly harmless man (Shearsmith) living in the woods. Wheatley’s psychedelic visuals and incredible sound design creates a sense of dread that is hard to shake.
