A stop-motion animated homage to all of Japanese Cinema in general (and Akira Kurosawa, Manga adaptations, and Toho kaiju movies in specific), ISLE OF DOGS follows the adventures of 12-year-old Atari (Rankin) who goes on a perilous odyssey to rescue his beloved pup when all canines are exiled to Trash Island because of an ongoing epidemic of Dog Flu.
