In this Lynchian-nightmare riff on THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (screening Oct 8), a rookie FBI agent (Monroe) joins the investigation of a seemingly unconnected series of bizarre, ritualistic murders without knowing just how deep the rabbit hole goes. With exquisite production design, occult overtones, an epically weird Nicolas Cage, and a savage performance from Alicia Witt (Twin Peaks), LONGLEGS is a terrific exercise in sustained dread.
