Tommy Lee Jones plays a veteran member of the secret government agency charged with keeping the vast numbers of alien visitors on our planet in check while Will Smith plays a charming and brash new recruit. Jones and Smith are of course great in their respective roles but Vincent D’Onofrio steals the movie with a sensational physical performance as an extraterrestrial insect effectively wearing a human suit.
