Filmmaker in Person!

Kore-eda’s latest, and the first screenplay he has directed that he did not also write since his debut feature, MONSTER unfolds in three distinct sections. When her son starts behaving strangely, a single mother confronts his teacher who she believes to be abusive. The teacher in turn notices changes in the boy’s behavior and thinks he is bullying another student before discovering a deeper truth. And, finally, the boy himself, and the revelatory relationship that he shares with his bullied friend, is depicted.
