Udo Kier was one of cinema’s most alluringly weird character actors. His wonderfully committed (sometimes perfectly over-committed) performances and piercing blue eyes always brought something special to even the most misbegotten films. His unforgettable role as a pivotal trick in MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO helped introduce him to a whole new generation of moviegoers after working for decades in European arthouse and exploitation films with the likes of Fassbinder, Morrissey, and Argento.
