100th Anniversary!

You’re going to see a lot of vampire celebrations this October (even here at the Brattle with our “Vampires in the Arthouse” series) since this horror gem turns 100 years old in 2022. Arguably the earliest surviving supernatural vampire film, Murnau’s uncredited adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula features an uncanny performance by Max Schreck as Count Orlok—a sinister figure who draws an unwitting man and his innocent wife into his deadly web.
