Harry Dean Stanton memorably stars as a man who walks out of the desert after disappearing for four years and tries to reconnect with his son (Carson) and his brother (Stockwell). Co-written with Sam Shephard and gloriously shot by Robby Müller, Wenders’ elegiac vision of the American west gave Stanton one of his most treasured roles.
