With a screenplay by indie film fixture John Sayles and direction from Joe Dante (Gremlins), PIRANHA is a remarkable fusion between an obvious Jaws rip-off and a winking, weirdo monster movie fan film. When a batch of genetically modified piranha are accidentally released from a military lab, the people responsible must race against time to try and stop them from reaching a busy resort.
