The latest film from beloved Canadian iconoclast Guy Maddin and his directing partners Evan and Galen Johnson, RUMOURS is a hilariously absurd satire of international politics. When a group of high-powered leaders from around the world gather to draft an announcement about an unnamed but cataclysmic emergency, the whole event descends into a strange mash-up of melodramatic romance and zombie movie as suppressed desires, jealousies, and well-preserved medieval bog men all rise to the surface.
