A married, dissatisfied middle-aged man is approached by a mysterious company with a tempting offer—for a price, he can be given an entirely new life. When he agrees, his death is faked, and he undergoes extensive plastic surgery. Awaking an entirely new man (now portrayed by Rock Hudson), he eventually discovers that his depression and despair are not so easily shed.
