Back when it was just called STAR WARS, the O.G. Summer Blockbuster was, like Jaws, not necessarily expected to redefine the cinema-going experience. Confoundingly high concept to the studio brass, cast with then nobodies and/or once-weres, led by an inexperienced writer/director, and with a comparatively low-budget, STAR WARS proved to be an astounding sensation and paved the way for a complete overhaul of the business of film.
