Capitalizing on the 1966 clock tower shootings in Austin, Peter Bogdanovich’s ruthlessly economical TARGETS follows dual stories as a disturbed young man stocks up on ammunition and weapons before murdering his family and heading out into the world. Meanwhile, a fading horror film star (played adroitly by fading horror film star Boris Karloff) faces the twilight of his career and makes a fateful choice that puts him on a collision course with the gunman.
