The simple fact that this bonkers film came into reality is, in itself, proof of just how weird 1980’s filmmaking was. Surgeon/genius/rockstar/comic-book-hero/all-around-good-guy Buckaroo Banzai (Weller) leads his team of smooth operators against an evil alien invasion. A hilarious and thrilling ride from beginning to end.
