Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis star as a pair of chain gang escapees who are on the run while literally shackled to one another. In this often-imitated noir-tinged drama, the pair must quickly learn to work together as they are pursued by the law, a lynch mob, and more in their bid for freedom.
