The Living End
Opens on July 11
Director: Gregg Araki Run Time: 85 min. Format: DCP Release Year: 1992
Starring: Craig Gilmore, Mike Dytri
Gregg Araki’s breakthrough film begins with one of the most flippant HIV diagnoses in cinema when semi-employed film critic Jon (Gilmore) receives the news that so many dreaded. Meanwhile, hunky, reckless drifter Luke—who is also HIV positive—cruises into town in his newly acquired car (stolen from a pair of weirdos who pick him up hitchhiking). When the two cross paths, a combustible relationship is formed, and they ditch their lives to go on the road with the motto “f*ck everything.”
Please Note: As of April 20, The Brattle will no longer require proof of vaccination/negative test result to attend our events, however masks are still required except when actively eating or drinking. Please visit the Covid Response page for complete details.
