A lone samurai (Mifune) wanders into a town divided between two warring crime gangs and decides to hire himself out to both sides, playing them against each other. One of Kurosawa’s most popular films, YOJIMBO would be remade three years later as A Fistful of Dollars with Clint Eastwood and help kick off the Spaghetti Western craze.
