Never one to hide his influences, Brian De Palma (Carrie) boldly remodels Hitchcock’s VERTIGO into a twisted, even more explicit, psycho-sexual morass. Wealthy developer Michael Courtland (Robertson) is left hanging by a mental thread when his wife and daughter are kidnapped and die. Sixteen years later, when he meets a woman who mysteriously resembles his late wife (Bujold), Courtland is determined to not repeat the mistakes of the past.
