Please join us for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of OFF THE WALL CINEMA!
Starting with two film-buff roommates in a Brighton apartment showing films to their friends, joining in partnership with another friend, Off the Wall coffeehouse opened for business on Friday the 13th, December 1974. This tribute to that little theater in Central Square that had an outstanding impact on film history features three programs of 16mm film plus special tributes and discussion with the founders.
Doors open at 7pm. Filmmakers, favorites, stories, and a Q&A with the erstwhile owners of the famed cinema/café, who will attempt to entertain you in their own inimitable fashion! Including special screenings of work by Karen Aqua, Lisa Craft, the Hubley Family, and more as well as shorts featuring the likes of Gerald McBoing Boing, Betty Boop, the Beatles, and Lionel Hampton among others.
