Off the Wall’s Magic Movies: Live Action
- Wed, Dec 11
Run Time: 90 min.
Please join us for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of OFF THE WALL CINEMA!
Starting with two film-buff roommates in a Brighton apartment showing films to their friends, joining in partnership with another friend, Off the Wall coffeehouse opened for business on Friday the 13th, December 1974. This tribute to that little theater in Central Square that had an outstanding impact on film history features three programs of 16mm film plus special tributes and discussion with the founders.
Wednesday at 8:00pm we feature a program of short live-action films in a typically ‘off the wall’ mode. From jazz shorts and Boston rock documents to art film spoofs and weirdo documentaries, plus a rare screening of the charming PEOPLE SOUP written and directed by Alan Arkin, this program is wonderfully wide ranging and full of rarities.
