The future of celluloid shines brighter today at The Brattle than ever before!

Today, we celebrate the addition of over 200 35mm film prints to The Brattle’s growing archive thanks to an incredibly generous donation from Rhode Island School of Design’s Fleet Library. The Joel Freedman and Michael Fink 35mm Collection, RISD, which has just been transferred to The Brattle, is amazing! It includes dozens of marquee classic film titles, potentially lost films, prints that are out of circulation, and glorious original release IB Technicolor prints.

This gift will triple the size of our 35mm print collection, ensuring that we will have the ability to screen films on film well into the future… even if the day should come when Hollywood stops making vintage prints available for projection.

That is why we founded the 35mm Film Fund: to protect the future of film screenings at The Brattle.
