This kinetic, colorful film from one of China’s acknowledged masters is commonly used to test/show-off the capabilities of home surround sound systems. So we thought, why not use it for the same purpose here at The Brattle? This intricate tale of intrigue, romance, and martial arts during the Tang Dynasty features thrilling stunt work and some incredibly gorgeous imagery (which garnered it an Oscar nomination for Best Cinematography).
