In a signature later-careerrole for Nicolas Cage, he plays Benjamin Franklin Gates, an adventurer/historian—think Indiana Jones or Lara Croft without the archeology degree. Gates discovers that a secret treasure map is somehow embedded in the Declaration of Independence and he decides that the only way to keep the document safe is, of course, to steal it himself! Are we ready for early Aughts nostalgia yet because this slice of entertaining cheese has aged just right for re-appreciation.
