Boston Premiere of New 4K Restoration!

Oil and water couple Francine (Minnelli) and Jimmy (De Niro) are thrown together on stage after a chance audition sends them on the road together. Romance quickly blossoms but Jimmy’s volatile nature threatens both their relationship and budding fame. A quirky noir musical from one of cinema’s most outspoken cinephiles, NEW YORK, NEW YORK has never quite achieved the renown of some other Scorsese titles, but the title track—written especially for the film by songwriters Kander and Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret)—was a smash hit and became a rare contemporary jazz standard.
