Sometimes the detective isn’t the hero or even the anti-hero… sometimes he’s just the heel. In André de Toth’s taut film noir PITFALL, Dick Powell plays Johnny Forbes, an unassuming insurance man who finds himself unsatisfied—despite having the Post-War ideal of family, home, and job. Raymond Burr plays a shady P.I. who gets Johnny into a world of trouble when he introduces him to an embezzler’s sultry girlfriend (Scott).
