Hail to the comedians in chief! With a laugh-inducing lineup that includes Will Ferrell, Dana Carvey, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Keegan-Michael Key, Jimmy Kimmel, and Seth Meyers, PLAYING POTUS dives headfirst into the hilarious and high-stakes world of presidential satire. Based on Peter Funt’s book, this entertaining film probes into the ways master impressionists and political humorists shape public perception, challenge executive power, and reflect the state of our democracy. From legendary late-night TV sketches to modern digital commentary, satire has been wielded as a weapon of truth since the heyday of Mark Twain. Sharp, insightful, and deeply funny, filmmaker Josh Greenbaum offers a clever, apt snapshot of the inseparable union of politics and punchlines.
