Wrapped in layers of flashback that rival film noir stalwarts like OUT OF THE PAST, ROMY AND MICHELE’S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION is both a sweet movie about lifelong friendship and a hilarious comedy. High school outcasts Romy (Sorvino) and Michele (Kudrow) are determined to show-up their classmates at their 10-year reunion, so they concoct a preposterous story about their success. Anyone who watched Friends for 5 minutes knows that Lisa Kudrow is a comedic genius, but you might be surprised by Mira Sorvino’s chops. Her commitment to the absurd characterization and accent of Romy is on another level entirely.
