In Andrei Tarkovsky’s legendary intellectual sci-fi film, a psychologist (Banionis) is sent to a space station orbiting a distant planet to try and decipher the fate of a doomed scientific expedition. Once there, he encounters many strange occurrences—not the least of which being the appearance of a seeming clone of his dead wife.
