A trio of hapless criminals (Richardson, Rude, and Strummer) rob a bank and hole up in a seemingly deserted hamlet with an exasperated moll (Love) in tow. They quickly discover that the town is actually overrun by caffeine addicted weirdos and desperados—played by the likes of Elvis Costello, Dennis Hopper, Grace Jones, and The Pogues.

Hastily conceived mainly as an excuse to shoot a film in Almeria, the Spanish backdrop for many a Spaghetti Western, when a planned tour of Latin America fell apart, STRAIGHT TO HELL was written in three days, financed partly by traveller’s checks, and cast with a variety of friends and bandmates. An alchemical formula for a cult classic if ever we saw one!
