This charming and bittersweet Technicolorromance stars Hepburn as an independentyet lonely middle-aged Akron woman who takes herself on a vacation to Venice. While drinking in the beauty of the fabledcity, she is wooed by a suave antiquesdealer, but she has a hard time fully givingin to this ‘brief encounter.’
