Duke Anderson (Connery), a safecracker just out from a ten-year prison stretch, becomes inspired to pull off ‘one last job’ when he spies the luxury apartment building where his old flame lives. Duke plans, with the backing of the mob, to rob all of the apartments in the building at the same time, unaware that practically every unit is under surveillance of one kind or another by an assortment of law enforcement agencies and individuals.
