In one of Jean Arthur’s finest hours, she stars as a woman looking for a roomate during wartime overcrowding in Washington DC. She winds up housing a government advisor (Coburn) who turns out to be an impossible busybody. He tries to “fix” her romantic unattachment by inviting a handsome young man (McCrea) to also share the apartment which results in an increasingly hilarious series of comedic incidents.
