Double Feature: A Night at the Opera & Duck Soup
In the place of our annual Marx Brothers marathon, we offer the next best thing: A Marx Brothers double-feature!
A NIGHT AT THE OPERA plays first at 6:30pm, DUCK SOUP will screen second (at about 8:30pm) after a brief intermission.
Your ticket for this program allows entry into both films! (But you don’t have to stay for both if you don’t want to)
A Night at the Opera
Director: Sam Wood Run Time: 96 min. Format: 35mm Film Release Year: 1935
Starring: Allan Jones, Chico Marx, Groucho Marx, Harpo Marx, Kitty Carlisle
In place of our annual Marx Brothers Marathon, we’re excited to present this double feature of two of their best films. In DUCK SOUP (1933, 69 min, DCP), Groucho is inexplicably made the leader of a tiny country with typically disastrous and hilarious results. In A NIGHT AT THE OPERA (1935, 96 min, 35mm), the zany Brothers take on a pompous opera star and bring the house down.
Please Note: All in-person screenings at the Brattle now require proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test (within 72-hours).
