35mm Screenings!
In this underseen piece of ‘70s cinema of despair, Kristofferson plays Cisco Pike, an aspiring singer-songwriter who is pressured into returning to his former life of dealing pot by a corrupt cop (Hackman). Stanton plays Cisco’s old bandmate Jesse Dupre who shows up for a night on the town (with Viva and Joy Bang no less) that doesn’t end well for him.
This program is funded in part by The Brattle’s 35mm Film Fund. Donations to this fund maintain our film projection equipment, train future projectionists, and ensure that The Brattle will be able to continue 35mm screenings well into the future.
